Cerevellum Hindsight 35

After being hit by a car while out cycling, I created Cerevellum to develop a rearview camera system for bikes in hopes of increasing safety. I spent a few years writing the formal business plan and then presenting to multiple investment groups. SC Launch was the catalyst in getting things rolling by providing a grant in late 2009. This was followed by a loan backed by Michelin Development and finally, full funding by UCAN (Upstate Carolina Angel Network) in 2011.

A pre-production Hindsight 35 – world’s first and only cyclometer with rearview camera – was shown to the public at Eurobike and Interbike later that year.

Following a condensed development cycle, the first production units of the Hindsight 35 started shipping to domestic retailers, consumer and international distributors in mid-2012. Aside from the electronic development, I managed the daily operations for the company, customer service, inside sales and all the design work.
On February 4th, 2014, I was granted U.S. Patent 8,643,722 for Rear-View Display System for Bicycles.
