Kayak Design

Since 2004, have worked on well over 100 kayaks and canoes for major brands including Hobie, Dagger, Crescent, Bonafide, Eddyline, Hurricane, Perception and Liquid Logic. Starting with an analytical approach to hull design, I back up the designs with data. The hull design then drives the deck development as I incorporate unique features to increase performance and comfort. Most designs have featured rotomolded hulls but have done designs for blow-molding (Emotion) and thermo-forming (Eddyline.) Even some fiberglass and carbon models like the Wilderness Systems Zephyr.

My designs strike a unique balance between form and function as I have a creative eye for how surfaces interact and play with one another. While developed in a combination of software, I do not let the CAD program dictate the design, rather, it is simply a tool for getting the design to production.
